Captain Lou Lagrange transformed a lifelong passion for the water into a full-time calling, bringing a unique background in education to every trip. After a career shift in 2020, he leaned into his roots as an educator to create a guide service that prioritizes the angler's growth and understanding. When you step onto his boat, you aren’t just following a guide to a GPS coordinate; you are learning the "why" behind every cast. Lou’s teaching philosophy ensures that whether you are a seasoned pro or a first-timer, you walk away with sharper skills and a deeper appreciation for the local ecosystem. Specializing in the vibrant Peacock Bass and classic Largemouth Bass of the South Florida, Miami freshwater canals, and the Florida Everglades waterways, Lou has built a reputation for patience and expert coaching. He finds his greatest professional fulfillment in guiding the next generation of anglers, often citing his recent trips with young fishers as his most rewarding work. By focusing on the joy of the catch and the fundamentals of the sport, he creates a comfortable, high-energy environment where families feel at home. His goal is to provide a seamless, stress-free day where the focus remains on the water and the fish. Communication and preparation are the hallmarks of Lou’s service. From the moment you book, he stays in contact to provide real-time updates and professional tips so you arrive at the dock ready to fish. Beyond the fishing itself, Lou is a steward of the environment, sharing the history of South Florida’s unique waterways and the biology of the species that inhabit them. This personal touch turns a standard charter into a meaningful connection with the outdoors, backed by the credibility of a guide who treats every guest like a longtime friend.
The Boat: A Precision Tool for the Everglades
To navigate the diverse freshwater fisheries of South Florida, Captain Lou operates a 19-foot Vexus AVX1980 Bass Boat, selected for its stability and shallow-water performance. Built in 2019 and powered by a Mercury Pro XS 115HP 4-Stroke engine, the boat provides the maneuverability needed for navigating the Everglades, freshwater canals, and other productive fishing areas.
